The pickups each measure a healthy 7.86k ohms. The Nashville-style bridge and stopbar tailpiece show plenty of surface wear through the chrome, yet all screws still turn smoothly and the hardware provides its necessary function. The electronics work as intended, with individual Volume and Tone knobs for each pickup and original witch hat knobs. The original Greco star tuners are intact and turn very smoothly, with moderate patina on the chrome. The guitar matches late '60s Gibson spec with a 24 3/4" scale length, nylon saddles, and a 1 9/16" nut width. The bound rosewood fretboard retains the original slender frets which show only a touch of wear on the crowns of frets 1-3, with virtually no wear further up the fretboard. The mahogany neck has a fairly slender C shaped profile which stays quite consistent in depth as you travel up the fretboard. The guitar weighs 7lbs 5oz and has been setup with comfortable action and 9-42 strings. The tone is warm and detailed in every position, and the humbuckers have a touch of midrange growl, accentuating the acoustic presence of the solid mahogany body. Loaded with the original Maxon-made humbuckers, these pickups deliver a tone that is bold and clear, with top end that is present but not strident. ![]() One of Greco's earliest "lawsuit-era" set neck SGs, the SG-600 is an impressive guitar that in spirit and function captures the tonal power of the SG Standard. ![]() Up for sale, a 1973 Greco SG-600 in excellent condition and in good working order.
